Drawing from the well of time, memory, & his subconscious.

Leo Frontini (b.2000, Cleveland, OH) is a Los Angeles–based artist whose practice merges a deep engagement with classical draftsmanship and oil painting traditions with an exploration of the subconscious and emotional complexity. Frontini refined his technique through sustained study of historical masters and intensive life drawing practice. He began his career shortly after graduation with solo exhibitions in Los Angeles and New York.

Recent solo exhibitions include Ever Lapsing Interlude (2025), Make Room, Los Angeles; On the Corner of (2025), Albertz Benda, New York; Of Awe & Humility (2024), 1969 Gallery, New York; and Portae (2024), Albertz Benda, Los Angeles. His work has been featured in group presentations at Dallas Art Fair (2025) with Make Room and Untitled Art Miami Beach (2024) with Albertz Benda, and is held in the collection of The Bridgehampton Museum, Bridgehampton, NY.

Frontini’s practice combines his complicated exploration of the subconscious mind and emotional tumult with an exhaustive knowledge of human anatomy, oil painting techniques, and draftsmanship that is unique in its range of influence. Exploring his work is like embarking on a journey that engages both the senses and intellect. His paintings are often accompanied by evocative poetry, an instrumental part of his practice in exploring the hidden allegories of his work. His work reflects a wide range of art historical influences, demonstrating both craftsmanship and an interest in transcendent, contemplative experiences.
